Community advocacy work as a 501c4

Register here by October 24th

Community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits can engage in alot of advocacy and nonpartisan civic engagement work. However, there are limits on the amount of legislative advocacy they can do, and they cannot support or oppose candidates for public office at all. Setting up a 501(c)(4) affiliate can be an attractive option for groups that want to do more legislative advocacy, or that want to support or oppose candidates. This webinar will discuss what 501(c)(3)’s and 501(c)(4)’s can and can’t do, how to set up a 501(c)(4) affiliate in a way that protects the 501(c)(3)’s tax exempt status, and other regulatory considerations such as lobbyist registration and campaign finance compliance.
